SPORT JIU-JITSU FEDERATION OF NEW ZEALAND

IMPORTANT UPDATE

The Sport Jiu Jitsu Federation of New Zealand realises this is a stressful time for all academies.

It’s a time where we need to work together so that we can get back to the sport we love.

We all want to rush back to classes, but we need to do this as safe and as smart as possible. Listening to all government guidance and advice is crucial to us being able to get back training again.

As we move through the levels, we need to change the way we do things. There is no hard and fast way on how to handle a dynamic pandemic environment.

So we have put together some templates for you, that will help you, when you do decide to reopen your academy.

These guidelines have been written using information from Sport NZ, Worksafe NZ and based on COVID-19 updates from the NZ Government.

We have put together a document suite for you, that will cover all your bases, and give you confidence when reopening during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Those documents are as follows:

SJJFNZ Academy Safety Plan

-This document was based off a template that was provided by Worksafe NZ and adapted by SJJFNZ to suit our martial arts industry. We have repopulated this with information for you, and provided you with examples that you may want to use to further flesh this document out for your academy.

SJJFNZ Hazard Register

-This document was compiled by the Australian government for businesses and we have adapted to suit the martial arts industry. With the assistance of a NZ Human Resources Consultant we ensured this fit NZ Health and Safety framework and is ready for you to use in your academy.

SJJFNZ Health and Safety Guide

-This document was compiled using the information given to us by Sport NZ, Worksafe NZ and utilising the most current COVID 19 guidance by the NZ Government.

We have compiled all the advice from these different sources and put into one easy to use, functional document for you to use. Again, this was adapted to our industry by SJJFNZ.

SJJFNZ Sanitisation and Hygiene Guidelines

-This document was compiled using the information given to us by Sport NZ, Worksafe NZ and our sanitisation specialists that we use in our academy.

This document has been adapted to suit our martial arts industry.

In addition to these documents you will need to make sure you have the appropriate processes and systems in place so that you can operate in this new landscape:

Contact Tracing Systems (i.e. Martialytics, Zen Planner, paper based etc.)

Class Booking Systems (i.e. Text, Email, Online forms, Zen Planner etc.)

The COVID-19 pandemic is an evolving situation – review your plans regularly and make changes as required - especially as we move through different alert levels.

All of these documents are editable so that you can change your plan as you receive new information on how your business needs to function in the ever changing environment.

We all need to demonstrate that we are trying our best to maintain a safe environment, acting in the best interest of our members and New Zealand, while practicing the sport we love.
